Sale of Synthetic Caffeine Mislabeled as 100% Natural

Dietary supplement ingredient supplier Specnova, LLC (Tysons Corner, Virginia) has shared data from their in-house investigation into the authenticity of five commercial bulk ingredients labeled to contain “natural” caffeine. The five samples were analyzed by carbon-14 (¹⁴C) isotope mass spectrometry at Beta-Analytic (Miami, FL), a contract analytical laboratory specializing in measuring isotopes by mass spectrometry.
